News: Not 'bin 'bloggin' much today. Very busy. But looking forward to
getting home, where my new Meade hardshell case is waiting, courtesy of UPS.
For all of you eager to get still another update on my telescope...last
night I observed a couple double stars in Bootes. Doubles are among the few
objects you can get a look at when the Full Moon is in the sky. Saw Chi and
Epsilon Bootes. Epsilon was very tough. I had seen it years ago with the
C-8, but I had my doubts I could split it with the ETX-125. But I did,
thanks to my 7mm Ortho eyepiece.
News: Pundits blather on about Bush's proposal for peace in the Middle East
-- http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id0001892
Comment: In my opinion, Bush's speech resonates with ordinary Americans. He
called for a democratic, free Palestine that can live in peace next to
Israel. What is the problem with that?
It goes without saying that a democratic Palestine has no support in the
Arab world, where no other democracies exist right now.
It's worth remembering our history: Democracies did not arise in Germany and
Japan until those countries had been utterly crushed militarily. Does the
same thing need to happen to the Arab world?
