Quote of the day"Once Ladd had acquired an unsmiling hardness, he was transformed from an extra to a phenomenon. Ladd’s calm slender ferocity make it clear that he was the first American actor to show the killer as a cold angel." -David Thomson, A Biographical Dictionary of Film, 1975 5:46:16 PM comment []

Shane! Come back!I was running down the list of sites in my favorites folder and came across something Scott found online right after we'd finished watching the movie "Shane" for the umpteenth time. It's his all-time favorite movie, and for Christmas one of my daughters gave him the Shane VHS. If you love the movie as much as we do, you'll enjoy Walt's Wyoming Film Web - a site dedicated to the 20th Century of film in Wyoming along with a few books Walt has written on the subject, including "The Making of Shane". My favorite line from the movie is in the final scene as Shane "disappears into the twilight meadow toward the distant hills framed against the sky and mountains, growing smaller and smaller in the distance" and little Joey calls out to him:
They just don't make movies like that anymore.... 5:34:57 PM comment []
