Saturday musings

"Yesterday I was walking down the street wearing my eyeglasses and all of a sudden my prescription ran out."
  --Steven Wright

Since the puppy made a meal out of my glasses recently, I'm on the hunt for new frames today.  Got my eye exam Wednesday and taking the prescription today hoping to find a pair similar to what I've been wearing.  I have vision insurance for the first time in my working career and only had to pay a $10 deductible for the exam.  The coverage is supposed to pay up to $100 on frames.  Sounds like a good deal to me and the insurance is very inexpensive - about $8.00/month - and with Belle still in her puppy stage, there's always a possibility I'll lose another pair within a year.  Since the weather is so nice today, we're going to drive to Murfreesboro and look around the Walmart optical shop and also Doctor's Value Vision.  Maybe Pearle, too - they have a special running - buy one pair get one free - but I don't think it works with an insurance plan....too bad, because I'd really make out like a bandit there.  Wish I could afford prescription sunglasses as well.  Maybe with the insurance paying enough I could swing it.

It's always so hard to chose frames.  I really love the pair I have now, although they're held together with Scotch tape.  My face is heart-shaped and according to Pearle's frame choices, the minimalist look is recommended.  Interesting...
