100 things about me

"But it isn't Easy," said Pooh to himself... "Because Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you." ~The House at Pooh Corner

Quote of the day

Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!

Seed Packet Poetry

In the Spring of 1968, Richard Brautigan published Please Plant This Book, consisting of eight packets of garden seeds, each printed with a poem.  This digital version made available by Richard Stafford is just delightful!    (link via...Radio Free Blogistan)

Sweet Alyssum Royal Carpet

I've decided to live in a world where
books are changed into thousands
of gardens with children playing
in the gardens and learning the
gentle ways of green growing things.

The (new) color of money
"The federal government will unveil a new $20 bill that will introduce a predominant but subtle color into the background, marking the first time in modern history that a U.S. bill will feature a color other than green."
I think the American people should be allowed to vote on the color just like we did with M & M's.  Wouldn't it be tres cool to whip out a $20 that matches your eye color or favorite shade of lipstick??  heh..

Restaurant owner flushes wine
A restaurant owner angered by France's lack of support for the United States' position on Iraq staged his own protest by pouring nearly $1,000 worth of French wine and champagne down the toilet.
Ok, but did he put the seat back down?  <snicker>

Net speed record smashed
"Scientists have set a new internet speed record by transferring 6.7 gigabytes of data across 10,978 kilometres (6,800 miles), from Sunnyvale in the US to Amsterdam in Holland, in less than one minute."
And here I am still dreaming of cable...

Did you see...
this photograph?  It was supposedly taken from the Space Shuttle Columbia showing a sunset over Europe and Africa.  Snopes says it's a fake.  Pretty though...

HTML help
I downloaded a new little toy to play with this weekend.  They claim "users can create formatted content without having to know any HTML code."  That would be me....

Which religion is right for your complexion?

It's one I've never tried on, but isn't it time for a change?  I mean, Spring IS almost here...link via The Presurfer

Episcopalian

Rely on the little black dress of religion - Episcopalianism! You are a passionate person, too busy for the muss and fuss of fashion OR religion. Sure you buy it in a box, but does that mean that you can't both look AND feel good? Mais non!

The architecturally correct lighting in liberal churches is forgiving to your complexion. Not only does it minimize pore size but it bathes you in a glow of chic immediacy. You are SO here and now. Functionality and utility mix successfully with classic forms.

Liberal issues provide you with something to talk about besides tax shelters and working out and soften the edges of your utilitarian (not unitarian!) nature. You have a tendency towards thin nails and hair which could be mitigated by adding butter or other solid fats to your diet. Remember, Christ fulfilled the law. God wants your coat to be shiny!

Female Anatomy Inspired Stonehenge?
Was the design of Stonehenge inspired by the female anatomy and used for fertility ceremonies?   Professor Anthony Perks thinks so after he noticed  that  "some of the stones were smooth, while others were left rough".  No comment.  But an interesting theory...
