Is it Friday yet?As my daddy used to say, "I'm too pooped to pop". Tuckered out, zapped, zonked, near braindeath. Busiest two days at work I've had in what seems like a decade, and no relief in sight until at least Friday. We've right smack in the middle of a suprise state licensure inspection, and I spent six hours yesterday with the fire marshall and five hours today in meetings. Even had to do a PowerPoint presentation for two groups with absolutely no time to prepare and no idea how to set up the equipment. Somehow I managed to wing it - or maybe more appropriately put - I faked it. Tomorrow will be more of the same, and I actually had to call the county courthouse and ask to be excused from jury duty tomorrow. They were very understanding and promised not to send out a police car to pick me up when I don't appear for my civic duty in the morning. We're all in a tizzy at home just now. The cable has been on the fritz since morning and the outlook isn't good for American Idol tonight. I've been trying to phone the cable company for the past hour, and all I can get is either a busy signal or a recording that "all circuits are busy". We are not happy campers at this point, and if it's not fixed by 7:00 PM, I'll demand the company pro-rate my bill. There better be a Clark Kent working for that company 'bout now because it looks as if it will take an act of a superhero to fix the damnable thing. Of course, we can always watch THE WAR. Good ol' quality family time. Maybe we can have our own talent show. Yeah. Best imitation of a human shield? Best-dressed Iraqi soldier in American camoflauge? Or how about best imitation of a B-52? Oh I just know we could get creative. I didn't put those kids of mine through Drama classes for nothin'... Oh, and here's something that caught my eye today. Has nothing to do with anything, except I really really want one. Cheers :) 6:09:04 PM comment []

Tennessee Considers Cutting Presidential PrimariesTennessee's presidential primary may be scrapped to help avoid a projected $780 million deficit for the next budget year.Secretary of State Riley Darnell made the suggestion to members of a Senate finance committee Tuesday. He said eliminating the March primary would save $3.5 million every four years. (LINK) A fine idea, in my humble opinion. That's a big chunk of change, and hopefully a step toward avoiding the dreaded State income tax. Or maybe not... 5:33:19 PM comment []
