Sigur Ros is getting a huge amount of press of late including airtime on All Things Considered.

There has been a creative vacuum in much of "popular" music for some time and this seems to challenge that. People seem to love it or hate it - I'm afraid I fall into the later group as it isn't musically interesting to me and lacks poetic lyrics (I like to have at least one of those). So many people have recommended this to me that I feel compelled to mention it.

And now for something that I really like (and I think Loren will too) ... The Be Good Tanyas. Wonderful joyful music that makes you smile and skip - outstanding fodder for the iPod. Somehow all of the songs are familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

I've been getting caught up listening to Science Friday. About a month ago they had a great show on planetariums and amateur astronomy.

Science Friday is a great show if you haven't listened.
