This simply amazing - what happens when your spacecraft is millions of miles away and experiences a failure in one small part. There are times when, given sufficient cleverness, you fix it.

Great stuff -t he fact that the problem could be isolated and a fix created is astounding. US citizens are clearly getting their money's worth!

Wireless TV cameras smaller than the X-10 are available for mounting on model airplanes or for hiding in obscure places.

Most of these operate in the 2.4 GHz band and it is very easy to find signals. About a year ago a few of us took a drive with a small high gain yagi antenna to see what we could find ... the results were frightening and we won't be repeating that drive. I would never use anything like this for any secure application.

and for the holiday season...

Silent Bells to the tune of Silver Bells.

We got laid off, hit the sidewalks Dressed in interview style, In the air there's a feeling so listless.

No one's offering, people scoffing, Walking mile after mile, Then you wait by the phone just to hear:

Silent bells! Silent bells! It's jobless time, such a pity. Ring-a-ling, won't you ring? You'll take whatever they pay.

Dim the hall lights, use the street lights, Gotta save all our green We've run out of all our unemployment.

It's the big crunch, we've a good hunch That our 401K Will be empty by early next year.

Silent bells! Silent Bells! It's jobless time, such a pity. Ring-a-ling, won't you ring? We may be homeless today.
