Fire Trent Lott - rarely have I agreed with a Times editorial as much. There is no place for bigots like him in positions of power. Of course this is nothing new. One wonders what Lott would be doing if the nation had gone along with the Dixiecrat racism in 1948 and beyond ... perhaps he would be a poll tax collector or chair of the KKK branch of the Republican party. Maybe Bob Jones University would be doing better than it currently is -- heaven knows Lott tried to help them. Of course there are folks who support Lott and his position. Unless the Republicans get rid of Mr Lott one can only surmize that this is a natural part of the Republican "big tent"... 3:31:51 PM     Telling people and computers apart can be a difficult job online.
