The Good With The Bad
We often only consider those things in life which are "good" when we define those which are "bad". This is how we usually measure what is right from wrong, positive from negative and even in which light we see others. It seems to be a very human response that we all possess. But as I have been pondering this subject, I am not so sure that this comparison is truly correct. Consider the fact that each of us has our own likes and dislikes. I for instance, have a strong distaste for peas. To my way of thinking, they are rather vile and I have not eaten any of them since I was a very small child, going so far as to even culling them out of any foods placed before me. I consider them "bad" and avoid them at all costs. But some of you, simply adore them and delight in their crisp, just off-the-vine sweetness and relish their vitamin packed flavor. Just because you may not like something, does not necessarily mean that it is "bad". Likewise, if you find something to your liking, this is no sure sign that it is "good". It just....IS. So it is as well with people. Certainly there are more than a few people who have crossed my path that I think of as "bad" and with whom, I share a similar aversion, somewhat like the afore mentioned peas. But I am not so inept that I do not believe that someone, out there, may disagree with my "taste". Perhaps in the future, I should keep a more open mind when I consider these people. But please, don't EVEN ask me to reconsider the loathsome PEAS!
