A "Taxing" Day
No, ...my day was not actually all that difficult, in fact, it followed as fairly routine. I suppose that is due to the fact that today is "Tax Day" and my returns were filed in February and not only did I get them out of the way early, but received a refund instead of having to pay! Now I am not about to offer up the idea that this was "free money", when in fact, I paid my fair share (and probably your share as well), over the course of the last year. So in reality, this was simply MY money coming back to me after a "loan" to the government. But isn't it funny how very excited we get when we hear that we are getting that "refund"? I often relate it to a game of chance, a simple roll of the dice can be the difference between having to shell out extra funds or happily watching the mail for that governmental check to arrive. But in every instance, I always file early so that I can either garner a couple of months of extra "happiness", or spite them by holding my remittance until that last minute. However, I am not one of those die-hards who STARTS filling out the paperwork at the eleventh hour on April 15th, those "odds" are a bit too risky , even for me!
