No Pressure On The Roof

As my days progress, I have found that this week I am relatively collected and composed. Perhaps it is the new situation I find myself in, the new sights and surroundings. I notice a great many things, people and situations. Those that pace the corridors eyes ever averting, those that mingle as "social butterfiles", men who bury themselves in a newspaper, women who balance so delicately upon their heel highs and, most of which, seem to be in a great hurry to get somewhere...anywhere but here. Pressure_Valve As I watch them in their anxious and agitated states, I wonder just what pressures press upon their lives. It could be homelife or school. Maybe a pressing issue with their work which consumes their thoughts is the cause for such anguish. Sometimes I have a great notion to simply offer them a suggestion to ...relax. In this world there are a great many troubles and it is always wise to be prepared for such calmities, but sometimes one should simply drink in the world around them. I ponder this each day, as I pace the 586 steps around the top of the parking structure where a mere 26 cars park. And I wonder if these people chose to park here in order to imbibe in the fresh air and sunlight, in order to experience the day and its offerings, or was it merely that they could find no space below. It is there I choose to be. Even taking the five flights of stairs rather than the elevator offers glimpses that few see. I see the clouds and sky. The buildings and people below. I feel the cool air and sound of music gently playing far off somewhere. I look to the distant island out at sea and wonder what today brings for those people. I hear the sound of the jet lowering its landing gear in anticipation of a momentary arrival. Pity I think to myself, that some people allow life to pass them by without so much as a glance. Life DOES happen, even if you sit by blindly!

Today's Quote:

He who is of a calm and happy nature will hardly feel the pressure of age, but to him who is of an opposite disposition youth and age are equally a burden.-Plato
