The only Hillary doing anything interesting this year is Sir Edmund. This is the 50th anniversary of Tinzing Norgay and Hillary's first summit of Mt. Everest.
Hillary took the unexpected fame he received from this adventure to do some good. He has spent his life helping the people of Nepal. Through his efforts schools, hospitals and clinics have been built in Nepal. The Mt. Everest area has been preserved as a National Park thanks to Hillary and his work with the Nepalese Government.
His is a life well spent........
