Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Keeping it Simple

I was touched by Rich Finlinson's blog about Memorial Day. I still have my dad. And I'm trying to enjoy this time of our lives together.

Last night Dad, my youngest brother Jeremy, and I golfed from 7:00 PM until dark. We weren't pushed to finish the front 9 at Valley View.

It was my favorite course in northern Utah, with my favorite golfing partners. The weather was perfect. We all enjoyed our time together.

It won't last forever, so I'm going to take advantage of it while I can.

My grandpa told me on his death bed, "I can't smell the flowers when I'm gone." Finally, after 19 years, I think I understand what he meant.......
