Last Friday it snowed the entire way back from Duluth. Since I wondered along the way if it would indeed be snowing all the way back home, I talked to my wife in the afternoon to find out the weather conditions at home. It was sunny and mild. However, by the time I got there, there were 1-2 inches of snow on the ground! In essence, I "brought" the snow home from Minnesota.
Also, I noticed cracks in my windshield that apparently "sprouted" while I was driving in the darkness either Thursday evening / Friday morning. I was puzzled to how they arrived since I don't recall any object hitting the windshield. The odd thing was that there was a 9-inch crack in the passenger-side windshield and 3 smaller cracks in the driver-side windshield. I swear that the big crack on the passenger-side window got bigger as the day wore on. I could just envision the windshield exploding as I was traveling down the freeway. Hello wind and snow! Fortunately, everything stayed in one piece.
Today, I delivered an early morning load in the Milwaukee area and then got my windshield repaired. It only took 4-hours. I thought it would take the entire day (mostly due to the windshield "glue" having to set awhile. However, after it was set for 1-hour, I was good to go).
Then I picked up my loaded trailer and headed for Minnesota. I stopped for the evening at a truckstop near the Wisconsin/Minnesota border. My delivery in the greater Minneapolis area isn't until 8:30 AM tomorrow morning so I've got plenty of time to rest up before starting up in the morning.
Oh, and on the way up to Minnesota, there was just a tiny burst of snow flurries which soon ended (otherwise sunny-to-partly-cloudy). Sure beats last Friday!
miles driven = 335 miles driven (last Friday) = 612
