Yesterday (Sunday afternoon) I received a call from our the top company guy based at the warehouse in mid-to-late afternoon. He asked if I could take up a shipment up to the Minneapolis, MN area ASAP. Apparently, something had happened to the regular driver and he was unavailable. Well this was unexpected--I asked him to contact the other individual he was thinking of calling and call me back if she couldn't do it. She couldn't, so I agreed to get it up there.
So, I hurriedly said my goodbyes to the family, arrived at the warehouse, picked the trailer up, and off I went towards Minnesota. I arrived shortly after 11:00 PM and we got the trailer unloaded in just over an hour. Since I had some driving time left, I crossed back into Wisconsin and found a spot to settle down for the night at the second truck stop lot I stopped at (the first being full).
Today, I made my way home and traveling was great--lots of sunshine.
Tomorrow it's down to Chicago, IL and then perhaps back to Minnesota for the evening.
