The Perfect Snow Storm...in March! This morning's local drop went well and my trailer bound for the Minneapolis area was ready to go when I got back to the warehouse.
On the sunny drive towards Minnesota, I learned that there was a significant snow storm expected to hit the greater Minneapolis area sometime tonight and all day tomorrow. Since I would be staying the night close to Minneapolis, I could see 3-inches of snow on the ground when I woke up in the morning. The area could get up to 10-inches of snow by Friday evening. I'll probably miss most of it as it will be raining by the time I get to Madison/Milwaukee, WI tomorrow. However, I could hit some freezing rain on the way home tomorrow. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
I got to my first drop 2-hours early and they were kind enough to receive their shipment. However, the second (and last) stop would not unload the trailer since the night shift hadn't come in yet. So I sat for 2-hours before they were ready. That was OK since I needed the extra 2-hours of sleeper-berth time (avoid running out-of-hours) to make it to the truck stop where I'd stay the night. And I'd miss rush hour!
After being unloaded at my last stop, I high-tailed it to the truck stop. No snow yet. Yawn...time to turn in.
