Hows That Again

Rainy and Windy and Late
Well, I didn't make it to the first stop in Illinois on time (which caused me to miss my appointment time for my 2nd stop). I sent a QualComm message saying that I would be late because the directions could be better. Well about the time I figured I was totally lost, I called dispatch and discovered that the directions I was given to my first stop were outdated (they will be corrected after today). I sure was beginning to wonder if my sense of direction was out-of-touch! No one at my delivery locations seemed to mind all that much--I was one-half late on my 1st and 2nd stop and managed to make my last appointment on time.

It was rainy and windy for most of the day. The wind moved the truck around and at times caused the truck to veer off in different directions other than straight (time to slow down!). The rain combined with the wind made it near white-out conditions for drivers passing on the side of the truck where the wind whipped the rain into a wall of spray. Days like today cause 4-wheelers to really respect the big rigs as well as the drivers guiding them.

I'll be receiving a call later today from dispatch regarding my route for tomorrow.
