This summer, Peter, Clem, and I have instituted a new family tradition - evening constitutionals along the Coastal Trail. Clem seems to prefer evening walks. She really prefers it if both Peter and I take her out for a stroll.

I think this is Clem's little strategem for family togetherness. And it does seem to work.

Clem and me.

By the way, I think this is a great picture of Clem. She looks so noble.

The wonderful handmade tiled bench we're sitting on is memorial to a dad from his family. Anchorage has a great tradition of little memorial pocket parks, benches, sculptures, etc. Family members will get permission from the muncipality for these little memorial installations. There are three very wonderful memorials within the first two miles of the Coastal Trail.

Yup - it's another one of those somewhat deceptive Hallmark Card type sunset photos. We had major rain Thursday and a good part of yesterday which finally cleared out the wildfire smoke. We can all breathe again and wow, the mountains look so crisp and clear.

However, the wildfire haze has started moving in a bit again this evening. Which of course, makes for a showy sunset. And those mudflats really reflect the sun. But to be appreciated, mudflats need to be seen in person.
