Good ol Howard......still good for a laugh.

Howard "The Duck" Dean

When I'm President, we're gonna blow the hell out of George Bush! And then we'll back down everywhere in the world! I yell like Teddy Roosevelt and I have the politics of Neville Chamberlin! I get mad about my own country and I yell at everyone else and that makes me the best President in the world! When I'm President, I'm gonna yell at everyone and blame everyone for everything that ever happened in the world, and they'll sit down and shut up! That's right! Sit down and shut up!

I'M HOWARD DEAN, AND I ALREADY THINK THAT I'M THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

It's All the Same War

LET'S NOT KID OURSELVES: even if we captured or killed Usama tomorrow, we could not claim victory in the War on Terror. Because it's not simply a battle against one man, or even one organization - we are engaged in a global conflict, a struggle between Civilization and those who would destroy it.

This is not a police action, and we cannot confine the battle only to those directly responsible for the September 2001 terror attacks. Our enemies include all those who are motivated by fear and hatred to undermine Civilization and destroy our way of life. They call themselves by many different names: al-Qaeda, Abu Sayyaf, Ansar al-Islam, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hezbollah, just to list a few. It will not be enough to dismantle one group – we must eradicate the entire rotten culture of death that allows these monsters to thrive.   [Citizen Smash - The Indepundit]

Flip and Flop in One Sentence

John Kerry, obviously stung by the new Bush campaign ad focusing on his flip-flops on defense (especially on his vote against the $87 billion funding request for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan), has offered the following defense. Even the Great all knowing, all seeing, Allah himself is not afraid to post a correction to an earlier post.  And not just a small correction buired on page 10 but a lenghty discussion of the new material that has come to light.

Now if we could just get the NY Times to.........naw!

The Washington Post has a long article tonight arguing that Aznar did, in fact, try to mislead Spanish voters about who was responsible for Thursday's attack. Since this contradicts my post from earlier today, I thought it'd be better to... [Allah Is In The House]

 A Socialist's Idea of a 'Disaster'
A constant refrain of the pro-Saddam left is that those of us who supported the liberation of Iraq were blinded by "ideology," in contrast to the realists who favored keeping Saddam in power. The evidence, however, suggests precisely the opposite is true.

"The war has been a disaster; the occupation continues to be a disaster," Spain's prime minister elect, Jose Luis Rordiguez Zapatero says or Iraq. "It divided more than it united, there were no reasons for it, time has shown that the arguments for it lacked credibility, and the occupation has been poorly managed."

But the BBC reports that a new opinion poll finds that "most Iraqis feel their lives have improved since the war in Iraq began about a year ago":

Seventy per cent of people said that things were going well or quite well in their lives, while only 29% felt things were bad.

And 56% said that things were better now than they were before the war. . . .

About 15% say foreign forces should leave Iraq now, but many more say they should stay until an Iraqi government is in place or security is restored.

The full results of the poll, which Oxford Research International conducted for several news organizations, is available here in PDF form. [WSJ]

Why Should You Care?

They hate Bush because liberals, socialists, communists, progressives, greens, and elitists hate Bush, and that is all that is left in Europe.

Europe hates Bush because he is Bush. Bush could be doing literally nothing in the White House, and they would hate him, because he isn't like them. It is the most incredible height of arrogance which I have ever seen. For all the elitist liberal socialist intellectual pronouncements of listening to all points of view with equal respect, they practice none of it at all.  [Shining full plate and a good broadsword]
