Today I retraced the route I had yesterday. Altogether, I went one mile further (I must have made a wide turn somewhere -- grin!).
The receivers were somewhat surprised to see me again. But one of them commented that I was welcome back more often indicating that they appreciated the job I did on their behalf.
The drive was sunny and warm--a great driving day.
On the way home, a saw a huge smoke plume between Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI. It turned out to be a tire fire in Watertown, WI that started shortly after 8:00 AM this morning. By the looks of it, the firefighters still had their work cut out for them.
Back at the warehouse, I discovered that my regular truck had finally been released from the shop. I transferred everything from the temporary truck back to my regular truck. Afterwards, I found out that I wasn't preplanned for anything tomorrow. At best, I will help someone reclaim his/her truck that conked out up in Green Bay and that may be it for the day. So much for what was turning out to be a good mileage week.
I'll have to add up my average weekly mileage since I started with the company. I know it won't come close to the average I was promised by various members of the company's recruiting department. More to come on that account...stay tuned.
miles driven = 683
