What I thought might be a very iffy mileage day turned out to be good.

Another driver and I started mid-morning to Reedsville, WI to pick-up a truck that had been left there.  Mr. R and I had a good chat on the way up (another great driver from my company!).

When we got to Reedsville, we couldn't find the truck!  The town itself is small.  The GPS signal that the warehouse received told us that the truck had to be in the town.  Only we couldn't find it!  After about 45-minutes, one of the people we asked remembered seeing a tractor parked somewhere.  He took us through town right to a place and sure enough, there it was.  Thank God for him or we might still be looking for it (it was nestled up against a house--tough to see from where we had been driving).

Mr. R attempted to start it up but it wouldn't start.  That's when the company driver came out of the house and asked us what we were doing with the truck!  Well, she was not aware that anyone was picking up the truck.  Seems she the company told her to just park the truck there until she was notified on what to do with it. (Apparently she is under workman's compensation for an upcoming operation; however, Mr. R and were told a different story.  Who knows....)

Once we got things settled, Mr. R drove that truck back to Milwaukee and I drove mine back there as well.

At the warehouse, I grabbed my assigned trailer that had just finished being loaded and headed out for Marquette, MI.  The drive up there was beautiful (after some initial rain showers here and there).  There was even a short detour that took everyone through a short hop through thick woods on either side of a 35-MPH country road.  Very relaxing.  I've got to get my family up in this area--especially the Porcupine Mountains region--in the coming years.  The kids are too young now to appreciate the great northern woods, but it won't be long before they will!

I arrived with 15-minutes to spare before my 11-hours of driving expired for the day.  Tomorrow I'll have 4-stops as I make my way back to the warehouse.

miles driven = 518
