My 3-stops in the greater Chicago-land area went well.  The heat wasn't too bad (yesterday it was a sweltering upper-90's with high humidity across this area).  At my 3rd stop, a brief, intense rainstorm cooled things off a bit.

In 23-weeks of driving with this company I've averaged 2,000 miles/week.  When I started with the company, I was told I'd average between 2,300-2,500 miles/week.  So, I will need to see between 2,600-2,800 miles/week in the 2nd-half of the year to make up for the weekly 300-500 mile deficit.  I was able to get a mini-meeting with Mr. C (my boss) before leaving for the day.  I explained to him my weekly driving averages and asked for his advice.  He assured me that I would be receiving more miles beginning later this week and in the oncoming months.  He did not want to lose me to another company since he was appreciative of my work ethic (to which I thanked him for that vote of confidence!).  And he asked me to let him know in a couple of weeks how it was going.  That's cool.

I also mentioned to him that perhaps another dedicated division within my company might be worth checking out if things didn't work out in the mileage department.

After I got home, I decided to begin the process of gathering more information about the other local dedicated division in the greater Milwaukee, WI area.  It's never to early to begin gathering information about an important decision (such as switching divisions within the company).  I called Mr. R., the manager of that division and left a message for him to call back.  I actually helped him out on that account for one day a couple of months ago in a slightly different driver capacity than the one that I'm now interested in finding more information about.  I look forward to talking to him and hearing more about the specific details on the account.

Tomorrow I will be traveling to a Chicago, IL suburb for an early morning delivery.  Since I'll be getting up just after midnight, all I need to do now is to convince my body to go to sleep early this evening.  HA! (If I get 3-hours of sleep I'll be grateful!)

miles driven = 304
