Well, the good news is that I achieved more than 3-hours of sleep last night. The bad news is that my alarm clock did not go off. I was so irritated at myself! In the process of setting the alarm last evening, I reset the time rather than setting the alarm. Fortunately I realized my mistake and made the proper corrections. Unfortunately, I set the time to AM rather than PM. Consequently, my alarm would correctly wake me in early afternoon rather than in the early morning. Sigh....Why does that seem to happen when you've had a heart-to-heart chat with your boss the day before? Must be Murphy's Law!
I got to the warehouse and Mr. J (night dispatch) made an executive decision and had me go to Minnesota (rather than Chicago, IL). To make a long story short, someone/something else got goofed up with the Minnesota load and I was the only one available with enough hours to make the 3-deliveries during the day today. So, although I still feel bad for arriving late to the warehouse this morning, it seemed to work out...sort of (I was still 3-hours late to each appointment in Minnesota today).
By the time I got up to my first appointment, the weather had cooled down considerably (I heard yesterday that the entire country was in the 90's or above!). Instead of being in a sauna while unloading the trailer, it actually was fairly comfortably.
I was able to get back to Mauston, WI before retiring for the day. I should arrive back at the warehouse tomorrow morning just before 4:00 AM. Well time to double-check the alarm clock in the truck (grin!).
