Library Filtering and the Supremes

Ben Edelman: "The Internet differs from books in the important respect that the Internet's default is to make all content available, while the physical realities of purchasing and storing books inevitably require that only selected books can be made available."

2003 Denver Mayoral Election

The Denver Post is running an article on the mayor's race and the production of radio and television ads. Ari Zavaras and John Hickenlooper are in the pre-production phase for this phase of the campaign. Don Mares' campaign plans some ads but feels that the "voters already know who he is." Mares is the current Denver Auditor. Sue Casey's campaign does not plan ads while Penfield Tate and Phil Perington do plan to use them.

The Post article mentions the importance of an ad campaign in this year's race because of the distractions from national issues like Iraq and the economy. I still think the candidates are missing a great opportunity to get the word out using weblogs. It'll be interesting to see if a weblog or two pop up.

The Denver Rocky Mountain News is running a short column on the election.
