Lawrence Lessig
Lawrence Lessig: "So we're trying to focus on Internet Law, but the truth is, it is impossible to be here, as an American, without the war raining down everywhere. Barlow sits next to me browsing war webpages. Student's won't stop asking. And I, ever wanting to believe, remain stumped." Lawrence Lessig is officially dazed and confused. Me too.

2003 Denver Mayoral Election
The Denver Post is running an in-depth piece about Ari Zavaras, candidate for mayor. The article highlights Zavaras' experience running large agencies and some of the controversy that surrounds his tenure in those jobs. The Post also brings up the help he is getting from the Republican party in the election, especially fundraising. Zavaras is far and away the leader in that area. The article touches on his recent troubles regarding his college career, the Police Department "Spy Files", and the fact that he is a Webb insider, that may bring a business-as-usual attitude to the mayor's office if elected.
Here's an article from the Denver Student Voices website about Don Mares visiting East High School.

2003 Denver Municipal Election
One of the candidates, John Cimino, that did not get the required number of signatures to make the May 6th ballot is challenging the decision of the Election Commission, according to this article in the Rocky Mountain News. He was quoted as saying, "There's no way I'm going to lose this," said District 5 candidate John Cimino, who filed a lawsuit to validate roughly a dozen signatures that would put him on the May 6 ballot. "My people have worked too hard for this." Another candidate, Carl "C.M." Mangiaracina, running for City Council District 3, is hiring an handwriting expert to prove his signatures valid. Dwight Henson fell 10 signatures short and is now running as a write-in candidate for mayor.
Here's today's Stump from the Rocky Mountain News.
