2003 Denver Mayoral Election
John Hickenlooper's budget plan is the subject of this article from the Denver Post. The plan relies on salary reductions while protecting some programs and calling for another budget reduction, this one by 4%. I like his attack on the city's DROP program. I've seen very little benefit to the city from people that are in that program. I know the defferred retirees are benefitting greatly.
The Denver Rocky Mountain News is reporting that Jeremy Stefanek used the wrong forms to collect the signatures needed to get on the ballot. He complained that the forms should be available electronically. That'll take a charter amendment so I'm sure that once he's elected he'll line up behind Kathleen MacKenzie in the exciting job of charter revision. If you win the election, Jeremy, you won't believe the paperwork involved with city processes. Hey everyone, call his campaign and help him get the signatures. Jeremy, you should help out Dwight Henson too. Heh.
