Sweet Surprise
The element of surprise is a much inviting situation. It is not only the idea of the unknown, but rather that which is combined with a great anticipation. When you wish to bring someone out of their doldrums nothing seems to work as well as a surprise. Whether it's a cake or a party or merely an unannounced appearance, surprises seem bring with them a sense of bonding and love. So it is no surprise to those who know me that Valentine's Day is a most anticipated annual event. In fact, I like to go even a step further, and extend the "day" into Valentine's WEEK. What better surprise could there be, than to wonder what each day may bring. Beginning small, I set about a few tiny valentine's to be found in unforeseen places and at random times of the day. Later a sweet surprise of chocolate is uncovered which leads to the notion that there may be something more yet to come. You see, the anticipation is the key to surprise. Sure it's possible to simply purchase some trinket or bouquet and have it directly delivered to our interest, but where is the fun in that? They do have that fleeting moment of wonder, but it too quickly passes. I think it's much more delightful when a bit of thought is directed to the "hunt" and seeing that in anothers eye is well worth the time in planning. An ever short moment away is yet another opportunity to position the next delight. But what will tomorrow bring? I suppose...that will be the next "surprise"!
