Faith
What is faith? It may have a variety of flavors to many people, but quite simply, it is a confident belief in some future event. Something as simple as believing the paper will arrive on time or that the car will start when next you turn the key, is faith. Expecting that the sun will rise is taken as faith. It can be the idea that a favor asked of a friend will be fulfilled. When you expect someone to be there for you in times of trouble, is that not faith? Believing that there is some grander meaning to ones' life, other than merely surviving, is surely faith. And some find faith in religion, where their prayers hopefully are answered by some higher power. But when I ponder the idea, I think of faith as a bridge. One that connects my hopes and dreams with reality. The mythical span that conveys thoughts of what can be, with what will be. And in crossing that ribbon of highway over the river of tribulations below, I am confident that I will be delivered safely to the other side where I will find the ground as sturdy and stable as that from which I started.
Today's Quote:
Faith—is the pierless bridge supporting what we see unto the scene that we do not.-Emily Dickinson
