Crowds

Although there are many times we welcome the comradery that a large gathering can bring, a sporting event, a social function or most concerts...I find most crowds quite unsettling. At malls people push and shove scrambling for that "one of a kind" widget seemingly oblivious to the others around them, to which, they pay little attention and show even less manners. Even the daily rush hour traffic, often times resembles more of a parking lot rather than any modern autobahn. Lines at grocery stores and gas stations seem to swell only moments before you arrive and quickly deplete in your rearview mirror as you pull awayGoldfish. Certainly, I have no issue with waiting my turn for anything, yet, I seem to find myself becoming aggitated in direct proportion to the number of people which congregate. Sometimes it is as if I am a goldfish in a bowl...a bowl far too small for so many brethern. So when I find myself alone, it's only natural that I appreciate more, the beauty and tranquility I find myself within. Breathing is slowed, senses more alert and observations appear to be more accurate. While I often marvel at the beautiful goldfish that swim by, I am much more content when the oxygen level of the water is not so depleted!

Today's Quote:

I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than to be crowded on a velvet cushion.-Henry David Thoreau
