Under The Weather
Slowly but inevitably, I began feeling less..."well", yesterday. And by early this morning it was quite apparent that I was becoming ill. Nothing too serious (I hope), just a general overall sense of ailment. Checking the thermometer, it was obvious that my perception was correct and the numbers bore that out. So after taking some medicine, I lay there quietly, relaxed and unhurried then note the sounds around me. Outside, the melodious sounds of many birds, calling and cooing as the sun rises and a new day begins. With a echoing slap, the newspaper arrives hearlding worldly events that have occurred as I slept. Later, the laughter and giggles of school children on their way to scholarly endeavors are then drown by the incessant drone of a far off leaf blower. Sunlight slips through the blinds and washes a warm bath of rays over my skin and its warmth revives me. Being ill is not the most pleasant of circumstances but it does lend itself to a calm and unobtrusive revelation of one's surroundings.
Today's Quote:
I enjoy convalescence. It is the part that makes the illness worth while.-George Bernard Shaw
